Classic Kaposi sarcoma in inmunocommpetent patient. Abaut a case
Abstract
Kaposi’s sarcoma is a rare oncological disease of mesenchymal origin, associated with infection by the oncogenic agent human herpesvirus type 8. The purpose of this report is to present the case of a patient with the classic variant of Kaposi’s sarcoma. The patient is a 50-year-old Black male, diagnosed with Kaposi’s sarcoma, negative HIV status, referred to oncology for therapeutic evaluation and case follow-up. The initial management was surgical, with tumor recurrence shortly thereafter. On this occasion, physical examination revealed several multifocal tumor-like lesions in the left lower limb and the right auricular pavilion, with non-operable margins. Chemotherapy was employed for systemic control and local treatment.
